Understanding Culture
Culture is the external workings of values, attitudes, behaviours, expectations and characteristics, it is how we define our organisation and our value structure. Our culture defines how we measure our success and understand our motives. With a positive well defined culture we have a well defined working structure that has clear expectations, boundaries and outcomes, those increasing organisational success. Well defined positive culture comes from the positive management of an organisation and is foundational to driving forward vision. To achieve positive culture a management team must be grounded in the knowledge of the purpose of the organisation, able to visualize future developments and create and communicate inspirational purpose.
The initial stage of culture change explores the past, present and future of your organisation looking at:
- Existing values.
- Organisational foundations.
- Exploring organisational capabilities.
- Individuals strengths and passions.
- Challenging beliefs and expectations at both individual and corporate levels.
- What drives the organisation.
- Exploring what the future can bring.
- Defining success.
During the Explore process Teambuilding Australia will use a range of multi sensory and experiential learning techniques. This will include facilitated meta processing sessions and visioning workshops to develop measures, expectations, passions and values.

Change impacts everyone at every level within an organisation and therefore positive structures and strategies need to be put into place. This will enable the structural stability of your organisation and buy in from those affected so that there is a seamless transition and ensures positive impact from the process.
The third stage of culture change is about Engaging others in your vision by developing structures and strategies for change we will work with you to develop:
- An understanding of the impact of the outcomes from the Explore and Excite stages on the organisation.
- Re-evaluation of organisational structures
- A ‘next steps’ strategy
- Roles and responsibilities within the organisation
- Necessary stake holder communications.
During the Engage process we will use interactive techniques to enable you to take ownership of the culture you have created. We will help you develop a timeline for implication and a framework to enable you to communicate effectively the reasons and implications of the changes you are putting into place.
